John de Zwart

John de Zwart is Chief Financial Officer of TOWER Australia Group Limited. He is responsible for all matters financial, as well as the planning process.
Mr de Zwart is a chartered accountant with 18 years experience in the finance industry in Australia and the United Kingdom. He joined TOWER Australia Limited in July 2003 as Chief Financial Officer, having spent the previous four years in senior roles with AMP UK Financial Services. He was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer of TOWER Limited in March 2005 and held that position until the separation of TOWER’s Australian and New Zealand businesses in November 2006.
In the UK, John held roles with AMP as Head of Finance Services for five life companies and other regulated entities, and he was Director, AMP Mortgages, responsible for establishing a mortgage broker channel immediately prior to AMP’s cessation of selling new business in the UK.
Prior to moving to the UK, John spent four years with AMP in Australia in the positions of CFO for AMP Corporate Superannuation and Group Finance Executive, responsible for financial reporting to the executive team, AMP Limited Board and Investors.
John de Zwart is a graduate in economics from the University of Sydney. He started his career with Westpac in Sydney, followed by a period with Price Waterhouse in audit. John also worked as a Business Analyst for CS First Boston in the UK before returning to Australia to join AMP.
