Dai-ichi Life Proposal
Background
On 8 August 2008, Dai-ichi Life agreed to acquire Guinness Peat Group plc (GPG)’s 29.7% shareholding in TOWER Australia in three tranches:
- 14.9% was acquired unconditionally on 13 August 2008;
- 5.0% was acquired following regulatory approvals; and
- The remaining 9.8% is to be acquired subject to TOWER Australia shareholder approval and regulatory approvals.

Shareholder Meeting
A meeting of TOWER Australia Shareholders is to be held on Friday 17 October 2008 commencing at 10.00am (Sydney time). The meeting is to be held at The Barnet Long Room, Level 1 Customs House, 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay, Sydney, Australia.
The Explanatory Memorandum and Notice of General Meeting has been released on the ASX announcements platform and is expected to be dispatched to Shareholders on or around 10 September 2008.
